Week 2: The wave functions, operators and observables

Here’s what I’m learning on week 2 – we ‘re diving into wave functions, observables (things we can measure / retrieve from the wave function) and operators (the mechanisms to exteact measurements).

I’m going to learn the first two postulates of quantum mechanics and be able to use them:

• Postulate 1: The state of a system
• Postulate 2: Operators and observables

Allegedly, yy the week’s end I’ll be able to:

1. “describe the state of a quantum system using mathematical language (vectors)
2. explain the link between observables and operators
3. perform vector operations using Dirac notation.”

The module’s decription seems rather optimistic 🙂
