Week 3: Probabilistic nature of the measurement in Quantum Mechanics
This week, we get to delve into three more key postulates of quantum mechanics: measurement, the probabilistic nature of measurement outcomes, and wave function collapse. Then for fun, we look at some historic interpretations
Week 2: The wave functions, operators and observables
In week 2, I’m learning about wave functions, observables, operators, and the first two postulates of quantum mechanics, aiming to describe quantum states, explain observables and operators, and use Dirac notation.
Module 1: Assignments – foundation of quantum mechanics module
The foundation of quantum theory module includes two challenging assignments with numerous math-heavy questions and one essay, testing knowledge comprehensively across the entire module.
Week 1: Reflecting
Overcoming initial struggles with calculus led to a deeper understanding and appreciation of quantum mechanics. I’d recommend tackling assignments promptly, as this approach helps to solidify knowledge and make complex topics more manageable.
Week 1: Language and tools of quantum mechanics
Excited for Week 1, which promises to explore the origins of quantum mechanics and introduce essential mathematical tools, conventions, and notations used in the field!
Module 1: Foundations of Quantum Mechanics
Exciting weeks ahead! My first MSc module will cover foundational topics in quantum mechanics, including wave functions, Schrödinger equation, and quantum entanglement, setting a strong base for future learning.
